REVIEW - Garnier Olia Permanent Hair Colour 7.0 Dark Blonde

Time to dye my beautiful sisters hair again!! You can see my efforts last time with Garnier Olia 7.13 Dark Beige Blonde this time she chose Garnier Olia 7.0 in Dark Blonde.  So not a massively different colour but interesting to see the difference.

This permanent hair colour is very easy to use. She chose it again because it really doesn't smell much at all which is a revelation compared to some stinky hair dyes.  Perhaps it is due to the fact it has no amonida. Which is a plus.

The kit comes with gloves and a handy push out section in the box to hold the dye container in place while you empty the solutions in to it. This means less chance of it slipping out your hands and goig all over the floor.

After mixing the solutions I begin to seperate her hair and make sure it is totally covered in the solution. There was a bit left in the bottle but I felt her hair was totally covered and didn't need the last bit. At this point I was feeling a bit more confident than last time, it was my first time ever dying someones hair. Although this time my sis was going to a wedding the next day so it wouldn't have been great if she had ended up looking like a striped giraffe.

30 minutes later we were ready to wash this stuff out. It had left a little brown stain on the towel so maybe use a darker one (we used white - oops). Head over the bath and rinsed until the water ran clear at that point I applied the supplied conditioner which there is a lot of. Probably enough for 3 washes. The condititioner is very good and leaves your hair super silky.

Fortunately there was no sign of giraffe hair but beautiful shiny locks. The colour definitely has more of a slight auburn tone to it.

So another success! Whoop Whoop I will be opening my own salon soon!

The Truth About GFC Disappearing

When I heard google reader was disappearing I immediately thought that meant GFC was going along with it. A quick flit through my twitter timeline and it seems most people (like me) are a little confused about what exactly is happening.

So after some time searching and getting to grips with everything this is what I have found.

On the 22nd November 2011 google announced that it would be discontinuing GFC for all non blogger blogs. This was completed on 1st March 2011.. did this signal the begining of the end for GFC altogether?

Now the thing that has got bloggers hats is that they have now announced the discontinuation of Google Reader. Does this mean that GFC will disappear along with Google Reader? The simple answer to that is no. On the 1st July your GFC followers wont vanish.

However, it does seem only a matter of time before google do disontinue GFC for all other blogs. After all they haven't updated it in a few years and perhaps a tell tale sign is that there is no sign of GFC on Google's own blog, only Google+ Followers.

I wouldn't bet on GFC being around in a few years time so perhaps it is an idea to start encouraging others to follow you on different platforms like bloglovin', twitter, facebook so if that time comes you and your blog are prepared.

HOW TO IMPORT BLOGS TO BLOGLOVIN'

My clever little friend Ellie from www.elliesramblings.com
has shared something very exciting...

For those of you know are already registered with Bloglovin' All you need to do is go to then click google reader and follow the instructions!

If you are not registered first sign up and then follow the process above.

Easy as pie! Now I am following all my GFC blogs once more! hooraaay.

Will you be upset if GFC does disappear altogether?

In Love With Fashion Blogger Competition and Favourite Style Picks!

As soon as I heard about the blogger competition for In Love With Fashion I knew I had to enter. I love some of their tops and they are such a great price.

The task was to create a wish list of your favourite looks from their site. Well I absolutely love styling and putting together looks so this was very exciting for me :-)

Here is my entry...

Khaki shearling parker £72 | Floral print skirt £32 | Peach stud + buckle trainer £38 | Stripe dress £34 | Black high top trainer £34 | Metallic high top trainer £34 | Floral bomber jacket £38 | In vogue we trust tee £18

I am absolutely love love loving funky trainers at the moment and "in love with fashion" has some great styles. The studs and buckles are a favourite.  Team them with everything from skinny jeans to long casual cotton bodycon dresses or denim cut offs.

The site also has some really sweet floral items like the skirt and bomber jacket I have included here. Team these together with the trainers for a kick ass girly look.  The khaki jacket will go with almost anything and I have teamed it here with the floral skirt and studded trainers.

Dress like this and the boys really will drool!!!

All my love

A Walk in the Country on a Snowy Day

I woke up to the most beautiful day today.  The sun was coming through the windows and in to the house. I opened up the back door to let the Popstar out and got the shock of my life when I was faced with 4 inches of snow, but my how beautiful it is! There is something about the snow that I love, if I am feeling down it always brightens my day.

At 2pm me and my ma wrapped up warm and ventured out with Poppi. It was just perfect weather. The sun shining bright, hardly a cloud in the sky and the bright white snow... b-e-a-utiful.

Poppi absolutely loves the snow and goes wild running around trying to eat it. She has the best time and I adore watching her bounding around so happy.

I probably shouldn't wear my Ugg's out for a country walk in case they get ruined but they are so warm and cosy, I can't bear to put my feet in to anything else when it's cold.  It would be like getting in to a luke warm bath when you can have it steaming hot... yukkers!

The Stephanie Knight beauty haul - Creating an OPI Manicure collection fit for a Princess

This is a very important post and something a little bit different to what you would usually read here.

I read recently about the very brave terminally ill cancer patient Stephanie Knight.

You can read more on her story here and here

After reading about her story I was very touched. She is undoubtedly an inspiring strong young woman.  I thought there must be someway to help. I read that she has a bucket list which she is making her way through things like fake hen nights and meeting Gary Barlow...

Looking through this list. I noticed something that resonates with me and I know it could be on a wish list of any beauty blogger...

I know as beauty bloggers we all have polishes waiting to be swatched or tested. So what I am suggesting is that we all get together as a beauty blogging community and send this beautiful girl an OPI and manicure haul worthy of a princess!!

What do you say?

Lets do it!

Grab your spare OPI nail varnishes that have been waiting to be used or perhaps next time you are at the beauty hall buy a spare one for this gorgeous brave girl.

Also if you have any nail glitter, files, other manicure goodies we can include to make her feel special lets do it!

This will only run for 3 weeks. Make sure your polishes reach me before the 31st March otherwise they won't be able to be included in the Haul!

Please tweet and forward this to as many #bbloggers as possible.

This is really important and I know as a community we can do something which could make a little bit of difference in Stephanie's life.

With every polish sent please include your blog address, email, name and twitter or Facebook if you have it and I will mention everyone we receive from.

Come on girls lets make this special girl smile :-)

Feel free to use the below banner on your blog, facebook etc. And follow the conversation on twitter with using #SKBH
