Catch up and opinions?

Hi all,  I hope everything is well in your world. I wanted to do a little 'catch up' post because I have been a little awol for the past week.

It is a new chapter in my life. I feel like I am finally moving from hopeless to hopeful!

With this in mind, I would really like your advice on changing my blog name. When I started AshlyLondon I was ehh living in London, single for the first time and just wanted to go out, have fun and discover myself. But now I feel like the name doesn't fit anymore. I want something that is more me, not associated to a place (in case I move again lol) but something that could incorporate any lifestyle topic as well as beauty, obvs Pops the chihuahua and just about my growing and discovering myself!!

Ok some of these are really random but here are my ideas so far:
  1. AshlyPop
  2. Pashly
  3. A life less ordinary
  4. Pandas and chihuahuas
  5. Miss Chihuahua
  6. A Panda
  7. Ashly Pashly
  8. Ordinary Ashly
  9. Pandas chihuhuas me
  10. Pandas Poppi Me
  11. Just me
  12. Just Ashly
  13. Legs, Lips, toes
  14. Sticky Feet (no idea why)
  15. Ginger Ash
  16. Ginger Spice
  17. Snowy Toes (because I like snow)
  18. Pretty Panda
  19. Hazel Eyes
  20. Hope in a teacup
  21. Hope in a Thistle
  22. ginger lashes
  23. Hazel eyes, pink lips

Honestly guys... I need your help!!

P.S incase you hadn't noticed.. I love pandas :-)

OFFICIAL BLOGGER | RGU World of Colours Fashion Show | Part 2 Backstage

After being given the fantastic opportunity to be an official Blogger for the World of Colour Fashion show alongside my blogging bud Laura Liparazzi. I already posted pictures and info on the rehearsal here and now I wanted to share with you the backstage lowdown from the show itself.

Toni & Guy were there making a great job of the hair.  Peter is seen here doing the beautiful model, Diane's hair using plenty of Extra Strong Mousse by Label M and some serious back combing.

The make up was a mix of stand out lipsticks and flared eyeliner. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick was used to contour cheek bones and their professional corrector palette to perfect any blemishes giving the skin a flawless finish, Inglot Lipstick pencil's were used for a long lasting matte finish.  There were also plenty of colourful Mac eyeshadows to choose from.

The Rails were all laid out ready to go.  Now all thats left is to head out to the front row and watch the show...

Check out my other posts on the RGU World of Colour Fashion show and hold on to your hats for the 3rd and final part in this series coming soon!!!

Clearing out.. What are this?

I have been busy clearing out an old wardrobe of mine that I literally haven't looked in for 10 years. Yes 10 years! Crazy or whaa? But the time came when it was needed so the clearout began.  I am not saying I had fun doing it but I did find some great treasures along with some what the hell was I thinking moments (plenty of those). So the fun came from the memories of old diaries and crazy letters written between friends.

So I thought I would share with you some of my finds in a trip down memory lane...

I have to say that I am really glad I got the time to look through my old things. It's funny looking at them again after so long and seeing them with a totally different perspective. It was great to remind myself who I was, what I liked and what I thought about when I was younger. After all it made me who I am today.

I would love to know if you remember any of these things?

REVIEW | Barry M Confetti Nail Polish with Swatches

When Barry M sent me these Confetti nail polishes to review I thought they would be super fun, and they are.  Other brands have done a similar confetti polish like the L'oreal Colour Riche top coat in confetti. The main difference between them is that these confetti flakes are long and rectangular in shape where as the L'oreal one for example is round.

Personally I like the shape of these a lot better. They seem more like confetti to me.

I have been wearing them over natural nails for summer, I think it looks fab. They also look good as a top coat over any number of colours.

Try them on your toes too!

They last really well, I kept them on for 4 days with no chippage. Be prepared to give your nails a bit of a scrub to remove or use the trusty glitter polish removal technique with tin foil here.

The shades are

Mashmallow
I found this colour to be quite subtle. The pink confetti almost has a pearly look and it is very girly. Would look loverly over a white or any pastel shade.

Liquorice
Simple black and white. Probably my least fave cos I am more of a colourful type of gal. Perhaps I will wear it more in the winter. Would look fab over a silver polish.

Sour Apple
I love the name of this one. I think it goes so well with the colours. Would look lovely over a pastel or neon yellow.

Bubblegum
This is quite similar to the sour apple, if I had to choose between them I would probably go for the Sour Apple because it has more of a mixture of colours. Saying that I tried this on top of a bright orange and it looked amazing!

Dollymixture
Another super cute name that goes perfectly with the colours in this confetti. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the most popular of the 5 because it is totally perfect for summer. I like wearing this one over clear nail polish. But it would look great on the tips of a bright blue!

Which one is your favourite? Will you be buying any of these?

Blogger Event | Benefit Cosmetics

After reading so many posts on other blogs about Benefit events I was so excited to finally get to attend one myself. Hooray. Thanks to Laura from Liparazzi blog for organising it. She is a super star.

I have been waiting for this event for what seems like an age. I was a little bit looking forward to what they had in store for us. Oh and maybe a little goodybag was on my mind too!

The event was held in Debenhams, Aberdeen. They have just launched their spanking new beauty hall, which is amazing and bright and lovely by the way. Very fab.

The benefit girls are absolutely amazing and lovely. I honestly can not praise their fun, friendly, outgoing attitudes enough. Seriously incredible benebabes.. blonde hair, black outfits, flawless skin and perfect eyebrows.

So on to the event. It started by the Benefit gals offering us some wee cakes and a glass of fizz (I went for fruit juice). Then on to a fabulous make up masterclass held by Claire the event co-ordinator from Benefit. I loved learning about products like Cha Cha Tint and seeing how simple they were to apply. I realised how great Benefit is for everyday use and perfect for quick easy application too.

After the masterclass we had a good test of the products. I am now lusting after That Gal, Most Glamorous Nudes Ever and Watts Up to name a few things.

One thing I realised it how fab the Benebabes eyebrows were. I am in serious need of a brow-over! Fortunately, we are lucky enough to have a Benefit brow bar in Aberdeen and I was super excited to learn we had been given a coupon for a free wax and tint at the bar. Yay, so look out for a review on this soon!

I noticed reading other posts about Benefit events that they often have a little competition during the event. About 5 minutes in to the masterclass the girls announced our competition. Whoever came up with the best # for Benefit events in Aberdeen would win some benefit products. I was definitely entering this. I came up with #benedeen and to my absolute joy I won. There were actually 3 of us  who came up with the same # believe it or not (must be a case of great minds think alike ha ha). The other girls were Kate and Amy.

At the end of the night we were given a lovely goody bag full of products for us to try...

Huge thanks to Laura, Claire, Jo and the rest of the Benefit girls in Aberdeen for a fab time. I can't wait 'till the next one.

Let me know by commenting below what your favourite Benefit products are!

My Cycle in The Country on a Sunny Day!

It was so sunny and gorgeous the other day that I really wanted to go for a cycle. Except I didn't want to go for a cycle. You know that feeling? You just have to force yourself to get on the friggin' door. And once you are out and on your way it becomes a lot easier and you actually sometimes start to enjoy yourself!

So there is actually no place better to go for a cycle than in the countryside. It is quite, the air is clear, all the nature and you can really just enjoy the scenery. I have found in the few times that I have been recently it has really got me out of my comfort zone and helped me relax and enjoy the moment.

I mean what gets better than this?

I went along an old railway line and came across some really cute little old rail vehicle thing. I don't know what it is but I love it. And this white picket railway fence is adorable. It reminds me of something you would see in Anne of Green Gables.

The sky was so blue and the temperature just right. It couldn't have been a better day. I stopped for a little rest beside this burn. It was so lovely.

I love this cute little road. The houses are a pastel pink and look very much like the type of houses you might see in America.

Despite literally having to drag myself out of the front door, I had a great time and I can't wait for the next sunny day (and for my legs to recover) to go for another one. Wow some exercise I finally enjoyed!!!

What do you think lovelies?
Is cycling something you like to do?
What else do you do for exercise? Let me know below x
