REVIEW | Barry M Summer 2013 Gelly Nail Polishes with Swatches

When I got sent these in the post I was so excited to try them. I love how the colours are bright, different to the normal pastel colours for this time of year. Not that I don't love pastel colours because I do! See my post dedicated to Pastel Pink here :-)

I was as eager as a beaver to get them on my finger tips! Come to mumma!

Here is a little run down of my thoughts on all 5 colours...

Guava
This isn't really the type of colour I would wear along on my fingers but it looks Better on my tootsies which is fine with me! (2 coats needed)

Blue Grape
This is my absolute favourite. Bang on trend for this season, this colour of blue was all over the runways. Two coats of this and your finger tips look amazing! My new fave nail polish!! (2 coats needed)

Mango
This and Guava are my least favourites. This colour on my fingers just does not look that great,  again, on my toes however, it looks fab. (2 coats needed)

Passion Fruit
This is a fun, bright colour. I really like it. Perfect for summer and very easy to wear. Would look great on your toes on the beach. (1 coat)

Key Lime
I didn't think I would like this colour but I really do. It is so different to what I would normally wear and it has totally grown on me. How fab does it look?! (2 coats needed)

The thing about this collection of polishes is that they look pretty amazing together.  I have had fun creating some funky nail art looks!

I have reviewed a Barry M Gelly polish before, in Lychee here, so I didn't want to go in to texture, drying time etc too much. But these do take a little longer than other polishes to dry. The best tip I have is to paint the first layer really really thin, it will probably look streaky and uneven but that is ok. Wait as long as possible an hour or more is preferable. Then on the 2nd coat, make it very slightly thicker than the first. Done! You don't need a top coat because these are super duper shiny but if you want one just make sure you wait at least an hour after the second coat before applying :-)

They are £3.99 each and available in Superdrug 5th June and Boots 12th June.

That is it for now beauties.

What do you think of these polish colours? Will you be buying any of them?

REVIEW | Maybelline Superstay 24 HR Colour Lipstick in 510 Red Passion with Swatches and Video

(Scroll to the bottom for video)

So this review is going to be quite short due to the fact that all I have for this Maybelline Superstay 24 hour Color lipstick is praise. It is without a doubt my holy grail lipstick.

I only have it in 510 Red Passion at the moment but I am definitely going to get every colour that suits me because it is so utterly amazing.  I bought it in boots for about £8.99 so I am not being paid to say this. I genuinely think that everyone should have this lipstick because of its amazingness.

The colour is rich and goes on very easily and with precision using the wand supplied.  After application wait around 20 seconds until it is dry, then apply the other side of the lipstick which holds the balm. That is is! And your lipstick will last for hours and hours. Obviously it depends on exactly what you are doing but I went to a wedding a few weeks ago and it lasted from 1pm until 10pm, including eating and drinking for quite a few hours of that. I couldn't believe it. You don't have to worry about it coming off on your clothes or on your teeth, cups of anything else. It really does last and last.

It does exactly what is claims to; no crumbling, no transferring and no smudging.

I don't know how it does it but it does...  Just go and get it and you will see!!

What do you think? Will you be giving it a try?

A Few Things I Spotted in Town and Didn't Buy!!!

I popped in to town the other day for a 'browse' and to take some things back. I did end up buying some new underwear, which I badly needed, but I resisted getting anything else. I found some really lovely things and wanted to show you a few of them. There was so much more I could have taken pictures off but I was too busy oohing and ahhing at everything and dreaming of it filling up my wardrobe!

I especially love these two bags from River Island. I mean they are like £40 bucks, what a steal!

What do you think lovelies?
Have you spotted any gorgeous things that you managed to resist buying recently?

TOWIE STYLE | Lucy Mecklenburgh Blue Lace Dress in Marbella

Hi diddle hi, happy Saturday evening!

So, I was looking at some of the pictures on the Daily Mail website when I saw Lucy Mecklenburgh from The only Way is Essex (TOWIE) in Marbella wearing an amazing blue lace dress. And I HAD to find out where it was from straight away... I absolutely adore this colour of blue! It will match my new fave shade of Barry M gelly polish perfectly.

After looking at my twitter feed and realising that a lot of other gals were interested in finding out where it was from too, the pressure was on.  I saw it as my duty to find it.

Off I went on my search.  I tweeted, I googled and spent ages looking. It took me quite a while but at last I found it... hip hip hooraay!

It is by a brand called Three Floor.

The 3 Floor Shades of Blue lace Dress was on the Asos website but it appears it has sold out so doing some more digging I found it on their official website here. Which as you may have guessed is also sold out. But do not fear they are expecting more stock in June!! I can't wait!

Keep checking back here and I will update you as to where you can buy them as soon as they become available!

In the mean time why not have a look at some other gorgeous Three Floor dresses here, I am so impressed they look gorg!

Stella Mccartney started off the trend for Blue lace last season and it has been seen popping up all over the high street.  So grab yourself a little lace number and join the blue revolution!!!

What do you think do you love the blue lace dress Lucy Meck is wearing as much as I do?

Event | Leighton Denny Masterclass at Pure Spa Aberdeen

I was really excited to be invited to Pure Spa in Aberdeen for a look around and a master class with Leighton Denny's right hand man, Nat.  I had walked past the Spa as it is situated in the Union Square shopping centre but I had never actually been in to it before.

We arrived at 8pm to some nibbles and fruit juice or champagne (I went for the fruit juice). Said a quick hello to some fellow bloggers. Then it was on to a nosey around the spa. Which looks deceptively small from the outside.

There are 5 beauty treatment rooms and 6 spa therapy rooms with a range of treatments like pedicures, facials, sculpting body wraps and even cellulite and colon therapy (which I would love to try, not!).  They also have a treatment involing an infra-red sauna. This is apparently the modern way to detox with the infra-red rays penetrating the lower levels of the skin to rid the body of toxins, burning up to 800 calories in a single sesson. Which is a mere £10 for 30 minutes... surely worth a try?!
Next it was on to the Leighton Denny Masterclass! Nat was super lovely and very approachable. He gave us a little talk to begin with to introduce us to the brand, if unlike me you had never really heard of them before, it was very helpful!

Nat showed us some amazing nail creations using Leighton Denny Polishes. I actually learned quite a lot and got some new ideas for layering polishes! He gave us some great tips on nail care too which I will pop in to another post.

I learned Leighton Denny are a great brand with an emphasis on nail care. They have some fab treatments to get your nails in tip top condition, which I will definitely be looking in to.

So that was it, another fab evening organised by North East Blogger Events.  Off we went with a lovely goody bag including some Ren samples, a Leighton Denny Polish and the new Elemis Cleansing Balm.

It was great to see some of these lovely bloggers who were also at the event --->

Rachel Glennie from the Honest Type
Laura from Liparazzi Blog
Laura from a Scottish Lass
Rachel from Twenty Something Beauty
Kate from Keeping up with Katie
Louise from The Baking Fashionista

Have you tried any Leighton Denny products before?
