Official Blogger Coverage | RGU World of Colour Fashion Show | Part 1 Rehearsals

You may have read a recent post of mine here, about me being invited to be an official Blogger for the RGU World Of Colour fashion show alongside Laura from Liparazzi blog. I was so excited as I had never covered a fashion show from backstage before, most of the time I would have been on the other side.

So my first task was to go along to the rehearsal, held the night before, and get the low down on all the looks.  It was a good chance to talk to Rachel from thehonest-type.blogspot.co.uk who was the event manager and is also a fellow member of North East Blogger Events. She is a lovely lass.

Entering the Atrium at Robert Gordon University business school is pretty spectacular. It has incredibly high ceilings and a lot of glass with balconies over looking the main area, where the fashion show was to be held. The stage, lights, tv screens and most of the decoration was already up. Very organised.

Myself and Laura sat down to watch some of the catwalk rehearsal. Things were really taking shape.

Then it was off backstage to check out the outfits for the show. This was the part I was most excited about (as well as the cupcakes, but more of that later).

The garments were separated in to sections according to the 5 cities the show was based on: Tokyo, New York, Milan, London and Paris. So I got a great idea of the styling for each walk.

I was excited by the bright colours of the Tokyo outfits. Especially a neon Jansport Backpack and some cute 'Nerd' bracelets.

The palette overall was lovely and colourful. Everything was bang on trend, current season stock kindly lent to the students from shops in the Bon Accord and St Nicholas Centres shopping centres.

I left with the feeling that this was really going to be a fantastic show! I can't wait.

To be continued...
